Our Work

At its core, United Way is a community impact organization supported by a wide network of people just like you. Together with local partners, we set and reach community-wide goals that make Central Indiana — and the world — a better place.

How We Help

We don’t wait for problems to land in our laps. Instead, we dig for the challenges that need us most — improving the education, financial stability, health and basic needs of individuals across our six-county region.

Our Partners

We’ve aligned our efforts, public policy work and partnerships — from small businesses and human services agencies to schools and governmental institutions — around measurable community goals that do the most good.

What We’re Up To

See the Change

By bringing together compassionate people who are committed to improving lives in our community, we can change the facts around our region’s toughest challenges. In 2016:

volunteers tutored 650 students across 39 ReadUP sites during the academic year

individuals received help filing their taxes from Indy Free Tax Prep, returning a total of $9 million to the community

households were provided utility assistance via the Indy Energy Assistance Program
