Hand Raisers for 100 

Celebrate United Way's 100th anniversary with Hand Raisers for 100 – one hour of service, on one day, as part of one big celebration.  Choose your favorite project from our list of 100, select an agency project to adopt or create your own! All we ask is that you give one hour of your time to make a positive impact in the community.Date: April 19Time: your choice - simply volunteer for one hour or more!Location: up to you - could be your home, school, neighborhood or local nonprofit

Delivery drivers needed

Restock the Classroom - Drivers Needed! 

Teachers commonly spend an average of $500 to stock supplies in their classroom. Help ease this burden by volunteering for Restock the Classroom! We are packing 3,000 totes full of supplies for Central Indiana teachers and need your help to get them all delivered. Simply sign up for a shift and surprise some hard working teachers with much needed supplies.Date: April 19Time: between 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.Location: Butler University, 4600 Sunset Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46208

Global Youth Service Day - Indianapolis 

Join United Way’s youngest supporters for Global Youth Service Day at Seven Steeples Farms as we plant an urban garden to address food insecurity for our neighbors who don’t have access to nutritional food. The event is free, and you’ll be making a huge impact while having fun with friends.

Global Youth Service Day - Boone County 

Often, celebrating a birthday is last on the list for struggling families. Birthday in a Box kits allow agencies to make children feel special on their birthday.  The Area Northwest Youth Engagement Team invites you to help the group assemble 200 Birthday in a Box kits to provide to families in need.

Volunteers are an essential part of Indy Free Tax Prep. The number of trained and dedicated volunteers directly affects the number of residents who can be served. Build your resume by gaining a valuable and marketable skill, expand your knowledge of federal tax return procedures and serve local citizens and help stimulate the local economy.

ReadUP volunteer

ReadUP

ReadUP connects volunteers with local schools, where they read to two students for 30 minutes every week, helping kids get on track - and stay on track - with grade-level literacy. We know that children who read at or above grade-level are more likely to succeed in school and in life.

Serve as the United Way of Central Indiana liaison at corporate volunteer opportunities! Gather liability waivers, participant information, take pictures and share the United Way mission with new audiences. Let us know what kind of project you're interested in and we will match your group to the perfect volunteer opportunity.

Moment to Movement 

Individuals gain perspective through an immersive, interactive simulation that allows them to experience life as part of a low-income family.  To make it work, we need volunteers to serve as community business owners for approximately three hours.
