United Way of Central Indiana accepting applications for Community Equity Data Initiative

United Way of Central Indiana is accepting applications through Nov. 18 from organizations interested in participating in a one-year program designed to help improve their ability to collect and analyze data about their work and the people they serve.

The Community Equity Data Initiative, previously called the Grassroots and Faith-Based Data Initiative, is open to nonprofits and faith-based organizations that are led by and/or primarily serve people of color. Eligible nonprofits must have an annual budget of less than $1 million.

The 12-month initiative will start in January, and participants will work with United Way’s reporting and analytics team – called the Strategic Information team – to receive:

  • monthly workshops and one-on-one sessions hosted by content experts and United Way;

  • a three-year grant for a customized data collection and reporting tool, through the Efforts to Outcomes software, to enhance the organization's ability to track and report their impact;

  • ongoing guidance and technical support from the United Way team to assist with Efforts to Outcomes data collection design, staff training and reporting needs;

  • custom report writing in Efforts to Outcomes to capture the organization’s impact.

Interested organizations can learn more, register for a Nov. 7 information session and apply at uwci.org/data-initiative.

The initiative is an outgrowth of a pilot program United Way started last year called the Grassroots and Faith-Based Data Initiative. Read more about the pilot on United Way’s website.
