7 nonprofits, faith-based organizations join United Way’s Community Equity Data Initiative

INDIANAPOLIS – This week, seven nonprofits and faith-based organizations will join United Way of Central Indiana for a yearlong program designed to assist them in collecting and analyzing data about their work and the people they serve.

The Community Equity Data Initiative, previously called the Grassroots and Faith-Based Data Initiative, is available to small nonprofits and faith-based organizations that are led by and/or primarily serve people of color. Eligible nonprofits must have an annual budget of less than $1 million. Faith-based organizations can have larger budgets.

The organizations participating in this year’s program:

The initiative will run through December. During the program, organizations will participate in monthly workshops and one-on-one sessions hosted by content experts and United Way’s reporting and analytics team – called the Strategic Intelligence and Information team. They also will receive ongoing guidance and technical support from United Way to assist with data collection design, staff training and reporting needs in the Efforts to Outcomes software, a customized data tool that allows organizations to track and report their impact.
