Crowe Horwath Builds Hygiene Kits for the Homeless

United Way of Central Indiana fights for every person in our community, but there’s no way we can do it alone. So when the Crowe Horwarth staff asked how they could help, we couldn’t wait to partner with them to make a bigger impact. The risk practice division of the Crowe team worked together to address the basic needs of people in our community by raising money to build 200 hygiene kits. In just a few short weeks, less than 60 staff members donated over $2,000 to purchase basic necessity items to build kits during their staff retreat. As a result, individuals seeking services at United Way Partner Agencies, HVAF, Julian Center and Horizon House received boxes filled with toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, conditioner, combs, facial tissue and notes of encouragement. And we know that addressing a person’s basic needs is often the first step to putting them on the path to self-sufficiency.
