Employee Coordinators of the Month: Carrie Patterson and Jena Halcomb

Sometimes inspiring change isn’t a one-person job: that’s why we are highlighting the teamwork of two employee coordinators at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance (IFBI), Carrie Patterson and Jena Halcomb! Carrie is the communications and community relations coordinator at IFBI and this year marks twenty years with the organization. Jena is a communications specialist at IFBI and has been with the organization for thirteen years. A normal day for these women could include organizing volunteer opportunities, planning events and creating innovative external communications. In addition to these tasks, both women have served as champions for United Way of Central Indiana for five years. Not only do they advocate for the basic needs, education, financial stability and health of everyone in Central Indiana, they also plan fun events and find creative ways to engage their team with our mission. Carrie and Jena agreed that their favorite aspect of this position is the ability to try new things. Last year, the duo decided to host a chili cook-off for their coworkers to raise awareness for United Way. They weren’t sure what the results would be, but they were committed to making it happen. After a lot of planning and hard work, the chili cook-off was a huge success! Aside from the delicious chili, the women said they saw so much comradery and engagement from employees across all levels of the organization. Their dedication to United Way has created a new, fun tradition that the IFBI team can look forward to. We love the hard-work and passion our employee coordinators demonstrate and appreciate their commitment to making Central Indiana a better place for all of us. Thank you, Carrie and Jena, for all that you have done and will continue to do for our community!
