United Way seeking volunteers, projects for organized day of community service
United Way of Central Indiana is looking for volunteers and projects for Go All IN Day, an organized day of volunteering and community service across the region.
This year’s event will take place June 24 across United Way’s service area of Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion, Morgan and Putnam counties.
Those interested in volunteering can learn more and sign up at uwci.org/go-all-in-day. Opportunities – including indoor, outdoor and virtual options – will be available for individual volunteers, families and groups. Projects will vary in length from those lasting just an hour to all-day activities.
Community groups, nonprofits and grassroots organizations interested in hosting a volunteer project can sign up for more information at uwci.org/go-all-in-day. Groups with an annual operating budget of $1 million or less will be able to apply for United Way grants to fund their projects.
In the coming months, United Way staff will help organizations coordinate projects and arrange for volunteers to complete them.
“The entire point of Go All IN Day is for all community members to get out and serve the community in all seven counties that we serve – and really make a difference,” said Abbi Garvey, community engagement manager at United Way.
United Way hosted its first Go All IN Day last year. More than 500 volunteers completed over 70 projects, including stocking food pantries, assembling care kits for seniors, mulching playgrounds and planting community gardens.
