More than a "Day Care"

Finding the right child care center is a big decision for parents. First and foremost, you want your child to be safe. But you’d also like for your child to learn and grow mentally, socially and emotionally. Unfortunately, that kind of high-quality care typically comes with a high price tag that many Central Indiana families can’t afford. The result? Parents are often faced with choosing lower-quality – and sometimes unsafe – child care centers.

Luckily, because of United Way and our generous supporters, parents have a high-quality, affordable option at Early Learning Indiana. Just ask Carrie and Keith Hagan…

“We started at Early Learning Indiana when our son was 2 years old. Now, two children and some years later, we have our 3-year-old and 1-year-old daughters there, as well. We wouldn't be anywhere else.

Our children each have benefited so much from the social and emotional structure in place, from the love they feel from their teachers to the learning they engage in each day.

As full-time working parents, there is no better feeling than seeing your 1-year-old point to her coat each morning and happily demand to put it on and go to school.

It's one thing to drop your children at a ’day care‘ and not engage or have opportunities to be a part of what your children do each day. It's quite another to be able to drop them off at their ’school‘ and know that you are leaving them to have an amazing day with people you have come to regard as extended family, especially when you don't have family in the area. We are truly thankful for Early Learning Indiana and all that it has come to mean to us as a family.”

Note: United Way works to improve the lives of all Central Indiana residents by focusing our work in four key areas – Education, Income, Health and Basic Needs. Early Learning Indiana is a United Way-funded agency addressing one or more of these priorities by assuring the highest level of early childhood education for children in Indiana.
