United Way of Central Indiana hosting meet-and-greets to introduce new CEO

United Way of Central Indiana will host a series of meet-and-greets this month to introduce its new president and CEO, Fred Payne.  

Local leaders, advocates, volunteers and donors will get to hear from Payne about his vision for the nonprofit and the role it plays in the community.  

A total of nine free events will take place at locations across United Way’s seven-county service area:  

  • Boone County: 4:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 31, Boys & Girls Club of Boone County, 5964 S. 700 East, Whitestown 

  • Hamilton County: 8-9 a.m. Aug. 26, Tom & Soni Sheehan Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, 1700 Conner St., Noblesville 

  • Hancock County: 8-9 a.m. Aug. 29, GBC Bank, 1920 N. State St., Greenfield 

  • Hendricks County: 8-9 a.m. Aug. 30, Hendricks County Senior Center, 1201 Sycamore Lane, Danville 

  • Marion County: 4-5 p.m. Aug. 25, Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana, 1635 W. Michigan St., Indianapolis 

  • Marion County: 4:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 29, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, 1433 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis 

  • Marion County: 8-9 a.m. Aug. 31, Edna Martin Christian Center, 2259 Ralston Ave., Indianapolis

  • Morgan County: 4:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 30, YMCA of Morgan County, 2039 E. Morgan St., Martinsville 

  • Putnam County: 8-9 a.m. Aug. 25, Tiger Pointe Country Club, 37 N. U.S. Highway 231, Greencastle

In July, Payne became United Way of Central Indiana’s 15th president and CEO. He previously led the state’s Department of Workforce Development for nearly five years.
