Power the Polls: National Poll Worker Recruitment Day

This year’s election is right around the corner. In just a few weeks early voting will begin and Election Day is just 63 days away. As American citizens, it’s our civic duty to make sure our votes – and our voices – are counted this November. Due to the pandemic and changes in how and when people are expected to vote, many states are facing a shortage of poll workers this year, meaning voters could face longer lines and less efficient polling sites  – and Indiana is no exception. That’s why the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) designated September 1 (today!) as National Poll Worker Recruitment Day, in hopes of encouraging civic-minded individuals, like you, to sign up and become poll workers for this November’s election. Our democracy depends on Hoosiers like you to ensure elections run smoothly and everyone’s vote is counted. You can help guarantee we will have a fair, efficient, and safe election for all by signing up to become a poll worker with your local election office. There are two easy requirements in order to power the polls:

  1. Be a registered voter and a resident of the county in which you work
  2. Must be 18 years of age

Depending on the county, poll workers can even earn up to $150 for their service! Interested in signing up? Contact your County Election Administer here. p.s. Before signing up to work the polls, check here to make sure your voter registration is up to date before the October 5 deadline. BOONE COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE212 COURTHOUSE SQUARELEBANON  IN   46052PHONE: 765-482-3510FAX: 765-485-0150 HAMILTON COUNTY VOTER REGISTRATIONJUDICIAL CENTER SUITE 13ONE HAMILTON COUNTY SQUARENOBLESVILLE  IN   46060PHONE: 317-776-9632FAX: 317-770-8877 HANCOCK COUNTY ELECTION OFFICE9 E.
