United Way’s Winter Assistance Fund

Long winter months mean drastic increases of heat and electricity bills for families and individuals who are already struggling to afford the basics to survive. These households are being forced to make tough decisions just to keep the lights on and stay warm. That’s why United Way administers the Winter Assistance Fund (WAF), an option for those who struggle to afford high heat and electricity bills, but who fall just above the qualifications for the federal Energy Assistance Program (EAP).

WAF is funded by tax deductible donations from generous community members like you. From January to April, or as long as funding is available, United Way serves Marion County residents during the time our region experiences its lowest temperatures.

WAF is only available for Marion County residents.

While we can’t predict the weather in Indiana, we can guarantee you’ll make a difference in someone’s life by donating to the Winter Assistance Fund through United Way. The gift of warmth means so much to these families this season – thank you!
