Women United Member Spotlight: Stacy Britt Hart

Tell us about yourself (job, home town, any other fun facts)I have been working for JPMorgan Chase for 25 years now.  I grew up the northside of Indianapolis and attended Lawrence Central High School and Indiana Wesleyan University. I currently reside in Brownsburg with my husband and two children. What are you passionate about?I am passionate about teaching my children that “doing good feels good” – it warms the heart to know that you are doing something that will positively impact another person.  You can’t ignore that feeling – it’s inspirational. I am also passionate about integrating volunteerism into my family’s routine. When and how did you first become involved with United Way?When I was 10-years-old. I recall walking downtown with my mother and seeing a homeless woman with a cart full of her belongings. That moment has stayed with me forever, a catalyst in my passion for serving others. Later, I was given the opportunity to match my passion for serving others through corporate volunteerism. Once I began to learn more and more about the mission of United Way, it was clear that I could make a larger impact beyond financial contributions. Since then, I have been involved in United Way's Leadership United program, Women United, Volunteer Engagement and I currently serve on the Engagement Committee. Why do you choose support United Way’s mission?I firmly believe that United Way is an organization that will invest in my contributions, both financially and through volunteerism, to fight for the education, financial stability, health and basic needs of our community. When did you become involved with Women United?When I learned about Women United more than 5 years ago, I knew that being around like-minded women with a passion for serving was the place to be. The additional focus on creating children literacy kits was an added bonus! What interested you most about Women United?It is the passion of the people who come together with a common goal -- little by little and day by day, we are making a difference in our community. What is your favorite memory or event with Women United?My first literacy kit build, I walked in with high expectations and in large part – it delivered.  There is a tremendous gift you get when you work to serve our community and everyone in the room felt that. It was not a chore or job -- it was passion for children. You could feel it! Everyone felt it.
