ABOUT OUR PERFORMER: JEF PAYNE

Jef Payne is a Smooth Jazz recording artist (on trumpet) from Indianapolis Indiana. His debut album “Smoothed Out” 2012 includes all original music.

Jef began playing trumpet at the age of 12. He played in concert bands, marching bands, and jazz bands. He marched with the Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps from Bloomington, Indiana in 1989. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the Indiana University Jacob School of Music in 1993.

Jef has taught band, orchestra, choir, music theory, and piano in urban and suburban schools since 1994. He was a Lawrence Township Teacher of the Year in 2014.

He is the leader of the “Jef Payne Trio” and is a member of the Indianapolis based Smooth Jazz group “In Tha’ Moment”.

He is the CEO and Founder of Jef Payne Entertainment. This company specializes in providing elegant live music entertainment for upscale events. You can find him performing throughout the city of Indianapolis, across the country and around the world. You can also enjoy his music videos on YouTube.
