Let’s get real. We humans are connected more than ever before
in our history thanks to the digital age. But it’s fair to ask – is
being connected the same as being understood?
Take a breather from your hectic, plugged-in schedule and join us as we explore the simple, yet profound topic, “What It’s Like to be Me.” Expertly facilitated by United Way volunteers, this session will allow you and other participants to share your backgrounds, your experiences and your thoughts in a safe, informal and welcoming environment.
Let’s talk benefits. We hope you’ll experience what others have felt after the session was over, like Sam Odle, senior policy advisor for Bose Public Affairs Group, who said “This session transformed me as a person. Talking openly about what has shaped my opinions and decisions and hearing others sharing their stories is an eye-opening experience. In the end, I felt there’s more that unites us than divides us.” Oh, and let’s not forget that free meal by the skilled chefs at Ivy Tech – icing on the cake!
Let’s make promises. We promise we aren’t asking for donations. We promise that dinner will be plentiful (if you register!). We promise there’s no preparation needed. We just want to know and understand “what it’s like to be you.”
