OVER THE EDGE

The city looks different from 300 feet up – and so does your impact.

Over the Edge is a once-in-a-lifetime fundraising event that challenges participants to rappel down a 23-story building in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Each rappel supports United Way of Central Indiana’s Basic Needs Fund - helping families in need survive today, so they can thrive tomorrow.

No experience is required - just the courage to step forward and the heart to give back.

How it Works

  • Sign up: claim your spot. Space is limited to the first 76 participants, ages 13 and up.

  • Fundraise: commit to raising a minimum of $1,000 using our peer-to-peer fundraising platform. You’ll receive tools, tips, and support along the way.

Raise $1,500 and capture your descent with a GoPro – perfect for sharing your moment of courage and impact.

  • Rappel: show up, suit up, and step Over the Edge.

Why it Matters

By going Over the Edge, you’re committing to more than a bold personal challenge. You’re helping raise critical funds and awareness for households across our community who need it most. All funds raised support United Way of Central Indiana’s Basic Needs Fund, which helps ensure access to:

  • Healthy food

  • Stable housing

  • Quality physical and mental health services

  • Reliable transportation

Ready to take the next step?

This is your moment to do something extraordinary.

Because sometimes, the biggest impact starts with one brave step forward.

Participate as a Team

Have a group of coworkers, friends, or family ready to take on the

challenge together? Over the Edge is even better as a team experience.

When you register as a team:

  • Team members fundraise together and rappel together

  • Your individual efforts combine toward one shared goal

  • Fundraising minimums are collective, not individual

For example, a team of five participants can work together to raise the $5,000 total fundraising minimum - no one has to do it alone.

Rally your team and take the leap together.
