People Impacted

July 2023

United Way’s partners collect data on the impact of their work and demographic information about the people they serve. This data helps us understand community needs and who may be underserved, which then guides our planning, grantmaking, policy development and decision making around future investments and programs.

United Way recognizes that systems and structures disproportionally impact different communities within our region, particularly communities of color. Collecting and analyzing demographic data helps ensure our work is part of deconstructing systems that grow, or perpetuate, inequity in our community.

This page highlights people being served by United Way’s partners in impact. As you explore the snapshot below, remember each demographic data point isn’t just a number – it represents real adults, children and families here in Central Indiana.
