United Way to Name Final Grant Recipients of Great Families 2020

Congressman André Carson and Mayor Joe Hogsett to offer remarks at Aug. 11 event

WHAT:  Great Families 2020 is a five-year initiative funded by a significant grant from the federal Social Innovation Fund (SIF) to improve family stability in targeted Indianapolis neighborhoods. On Friday, Aug. 11, United Way of Central Indiana will name four Indianapolis organizations that it will award more than $2.7 million in grants in its final phase of funding.

In August 2016, United Way of Central Indiana was the first Indianapolis organization to receive major funding from SIF, a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). On Feb. 21, 2017, United Way unveiled the first grant recipients for Great Families 2020. This event marks the end of the selection process and the beginning of the critical work of addressing family instability in five high-need Indianapolis neighborhoods.
