Colts donate over $65,000 to United Way of Central Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts donated $1 for every ticket sold to Saturday’s game against the Houston Texans – a gift totaling $65,925 to United Way of Central Indiana.
“We are grateful to the Colts not only for their generous gift this weekend but for their continued partnership with United Way,” said Fred Payne, president and CEO of United Way of Central Indiana. “Their support allows United Way and our network of community organizations to help our neighbors live the lives they are capable of living.”
The Colts are longtime partners of United Way of Central Indiana.
In early 2020, the Colts, along with the Indiana Pacers, partnered with United Way and contributed funds that allowed community centers across the city to stay open and serve their neighborhoods during the coronavirus pandemic.
Last year, the Colts sponsored United Way’s Go All IN Day, a day of volunteerism and community service across the region. More than 1,400 volunteers participated, helping more than 65 nonprofits and community organizations complete projects on their to-do lists.
Kalen Jackson, vice chair and owner of the Colts, serves as a member on United Way of Central Indiana’s Board of Directors.
“The work done by the United Way of Central Indiana daily is absolutely essential to the wellbeing of so many of our friends, fans and neighbors and to our vibrancy and sustainability as a community,” said Jackson. “The Colts are proud and humbled to once again support UWCI as it continues to build better lives and opportunities for so many throughout central Indiana.”
