Colts, United Way & Indiana Wesleyan to Unveil Colts Fitness Room at Eagle Creek Salvation Army

Indianapolis – On Monday, the Indianapolis Colts, United Way of Central Indiana and Indiana Wesleyan University will unveil a new Colts-themed fitness room at the Eagle Creek Salvation Army, which will provide local youth a fun and safe place to be active year-round. The room is painted to resemble the Colts locker room and will feature new fitness equipment and Colts memorabilia. Renovations were made possible through contributions from the Colts, Indiana Wesleyan and The NFL Foundation. Following the ribbon-cutting, Colts safety Matthias Farley, Colts teammates and cheerleaders will participate in fitness activities with local youth in the new center. WHEN: Monday, October 22 from 5 - 6 p.m.WHERE: Eagle Creek Salvation Army, 4400 N.  This is the 10th year the Colts and United Way have renovated a fitness room as a part of their “Hometown Huddle” event, presented by Indiana Wesleyan.  Previous renovations have taken place at the Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, Christamore House, Kaleidoscope Youth Center, Riverside Park & Family Center and five local Boys & Girls Clubs – Keenan-Stahl, LeGore, Lilly, Finish Line and Wheeler-Dowe. The fitness center also advances the NFL PLAY 60 initiative, which encourages young people to be active at least 60 minutes each day.
