Letter from Women United Chair, Dorothy Hoffman

What an exciting month March is for women! Not only is it Women’s History Month, but March 8 marks International Women’s Day – a day dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. I am honored to be part of Women United, a group of passionate, dedicated women who truly define what it means to be game changers in our community. Thank you for raising your hand for families in Central Indiana. Because of you, we’re able to create major impact here in our own backyard: from inspiring children to create and learn with literacy kits to expanding access to pre-k for thousands of children in Central Indiana. As a part of Women United, you are leading the charge and inspiring the change – but there is still much more work to be done in the fight for the education, financial stability, health and basic needs of everyone in our community. Many exciting things are coming for Women United this year! We will be introducing a behavioral health kit and a stem kit to teach children much-needed skills they need to be ready for kindergarten. On April 20, we will unite with thousands at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for A Future United to celebrate United Way’s 100th anniversary. And on May 2, our Women’s Speaker Series Ignite Your Journey: Inspiring Stories of Change will launch during the Tocqueville Society First Wednesday Luncheon. It’s an exciting time to be a Women United member and United Way advocate. I’m honored to share this journey with you and look forward to what is to come as we continue to find new solutions to old problems. We are strongest when we are fighting together!   Dorothy HoffmanWomen United Chair
