United Way of Central Indiana and Enterprise Holdings of Indiana Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement with a Common Vision to Improve Lives in Indiana

Enterprise Holdings becomes fifth company to strategically align with United Way of Central Indiana through a formal partnership agreement  INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Enterprise Holdings’ Indiana subsidiary and United Way of Central Indiana strengthened their relationship and community impact today by signing a strategic partnership agreement at United Way’s October board meeting. This agreement furthers Enterprise Holdings’ and United Way’s ability to make measurable progress on a shared vision to improve lives in Indiana. The formal agreement was signed by Vice President & General Manager of Enterprise Holdings in Indiana, Paul Evon, Enterprise Holdings’ Indiana Group HR Manager, Kerry Johnson, and United Way President & CEO Ann D. Murtlow. United Way and Enterprise Holdings of Indiana have a longstanding relationship that has promoted philanthropic giving through workplace campaigns and other programs that have contributed greatly to improving communities and lives throughout Indiana. Enterprise Holdings has been recognized as a “Company That Cares” and also supports other United Way chapters around the state of Indiana as well as throughout North America. “Enterprise Holdings is committed to being an engaged corporate citizen that makes a real difference in the communities where we live and work,” said Evon. “That’s why the company is a longtime supporter of the United Way, which provides assistance to people in local communities throughout the world.” In 1969, Enterprise held its first employee supported United Way campaign. To date, contributions to local United Way chapters from employees, combined with the 50 percent match by the company’s philanthropic arm, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, total more than $300 million. United Way and Enterprise Holdings are well positioned to deepen their relationship to create transformative social impact. The partnership includes the following areas of collaboration: 

  • Employee Engagement - United Way and Enterprise Holdings of Indiana will partner to provide employees with education, personal experience and engagement in aligned community efforts.
  • Support Human Services Network - Improve the health and quality of life of people in the communities throughout Central Indiana.

 “The shared values and goals between Enterprise Holdings and United Way is a perfect match and presents a real opportunity to maximize our social impact,” said Ann Murtlow, president and CEO of United Way of Central Indiana. “We are proud to partner with Enterprise as we work together to improve the quality of life in our shared community through advocacy, volunteerism, civic leadership and philanthropic giving.” This is the fifth strategic partnership agreement between United Way of Central Indiana and a major corporate partner. In February of 2016, United Way Worldwide, United Way of Central Indiana and Eli Lilly and Company signed an agreement that elevated Lilly employee engagement, advocacy and volunteerism in communities across the globe. In March of 2017, OneAmerica signed an agreement, focusing on overall impact through ongoing volunteerism and advocacy. In August of 2017, St. Vincent and Duke Energy signed a strategic partnership agreement during United Way’s annual board retreat.
