A conversation on Community Data and its impact on our work
Analyzing community data is an excellent way to identify traits about the people you serve and their present needs. Join us for a session introducing three resources that will help you learn more about the diverse populations in our Central Indiana neighborhoods and how community data can aid in the development of your programs and strategies.
This session will host three guest speakers including Matt Nowlin, Heather Savage and Carol Rogers - all professionals in the nonprofit sector. Our speakers will teach us more about the people in the community we serve and how it can help us better advance our work.

Meet Our Speakers:
Matt Nowlin
Matt Nowlin is a user experience designer with the Polis Center. He focuses on information design, and data visualization. Matt received his Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from Ball State University and his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
Heather Savage
Heather serves as an advocate and thought partner for youth-serving organizations to develop and implement ways to best target and support communities comprised of at-risk youth. Heather collaborates with youth-serving organizations in the Central region and statewide to provide resources to ensure that youth workers are equipped with the tools needed to help children, families, and communities reach their full potential. Heather comes to IYI from the Indiana Department of Child Services, where she served as Family Case Manager Supervisor with over 7.5 years of child welfare experience.
Carol Rogers
As Co-director and CIO of the Indiana Business Research Center, Carol Rogers directs its information systems and services, overseeing the development of websites, publications, training, research projects and other services. She sits on the boards of the national Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) and the Indiana Geographic Information Council, and serves as the Governor’s Census Liaison. She works extensively with economic developers, government officials and businesses throughout Indiana and the nation, providing them with economic and demographic information for and about Indiana and its localities. Under her direction, the Center’s award-winning interactive web service, STATS America, has become one of the most-used public data sites in the nation, along with its sister site, STATS Indiana.
