Accreditation
Every three years, United Way accredits community organizations in human services who are making measurable impact in our focus areas of basic needs, family opportunity and social innovation.
Grants
United Way offers grants to help organizations stabilize through times of crisis, expand their infrastructure, build additional capacity, support their teams, and improve technology.
Nonprofit Learning Center
Nonprofit leaders, board members, and staff can take advantage of low-cost workshops focused on the most relevant and challenging issues facing community organizations today.
In June, more than $110,000 was awarded to five organizations to evaluate programming, coach board leaders, provide training and develop volunteer recruitment strategies

Since relaunching in 2020, United Way of Central Indiana’s Technology Fund has awarded over $2.2 million to more than 80 organizations to fund 105 projects across the region. Supported by funding from Lilly Endowment Inc., it’s one of three United Way funds – Technology, Facilities Maintenance and Capital Projects – designed to help organizations with infrastructure needs.
For 2023, the Nonprofit Learning Center (NLC) has launched an in-person and virtual series of trainings with scaffolded topics that will support your organization, team, leaders, and community. Each of these modules includes three sessions, featuring experts and resources that support nonprofit management, sustainability, and community impact.
Technology and Facilities Maintenance are two of six sector support initiatives United Way provides – with backing from Lilly Endowment Inc. – to help accredited nonprofits respond to emergencies, support staff, improve infrastructure and technology, and make both planned and unexpected repairs.
